Giving FAQs

How do we give?

Every week, the JANE & CLAY CO. team visits impoverished communities in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, where we provide food, clothing, and books to needy local families. Many of these families are headed by single mothers who struggle to get by day-to-day. We not just hand a bag with food, Janeth and her team connect with the communities listen to their needs, Janeth will take notes of their needs. Janeth and Team will come back the following week with the list of needs the communities requests. The most popular request are Food, Clothing, Toys and personal items.

Who gives to these families?

JANE & CLAY CO. has several brand ambassadors based in the Baja California area of Mexico who are knowledgeable about the local communities and are able to visit families on a weekly basis. To learn more about our brand ambassadors, visit our About Us page.

Why single-mother households?

According to the National Institute of Statistics, Geography, and Informatics (INEGI), over the course of the past 35 years, the percentage of female-headed households in Mexico has increased from 13% to 23%. With this often comes an increase in poverty, as single-parent households struggle to put food on the table with a sole income.

Although there exist many charities to support children, the elderly and the disabled, families, particularly single-parent households, are often overlooked. By supporting these families, we are not only supporting single women, but their children-the future generation-as well.

What inspires us to give?

Our founder, Janeth Moyal, was raised in a single-parent household in Mazatlan, Mexico. Janeth is passionate about giving back to her community, and she has been volunteering in orphanages since she was 14 years old.

Janeth is also passionate about fashion and beauty, having worked as a professional model. As a result, she is combining her love of fashion and giving back to provide jobs to single mothers, so that they can stay home with their children and provide for their families. What inspires Janeth the most is seeing how positive and hardworking these single mothers are despite the poverty and difficult circumstances that they face.
